Who are you and what do you do?
I am Kat from Gradino Agency and I help small and medium businesses better access their market through the power of marketing, videos and graphics.
How have you found your start-up journey so far?
I am forever learning and I love that!
It hasn’t always been a positive journey, but from the challenging times I’m learning just how resilient I am – humans are made of some tough stuff!
I have grown so much more in the past 20 months than I ever would have in a 9-5 role, I wouldn’t swap that for the world.
What do you listen to whilst you work?
More often than not, it gets to the end of the day and I realise I have been sitting there with headphones on but nothing playing. On the odd occasion when I do hit play it is Absolute Radio, or the soundtrack to a film that has been stuck in my head
What drives you to get up in the morning?
I fully immerse myself in every project I take on – this means I often wake up with another idea that I cannot wait to get down on paper!
What three things can’t you live without?
Internet,
warmth and
spending time with good friends
What’s your best time-saving trick?
Make lists and prioritise items with realistic deadlines (Trello is fantastic!)
What have you learnt that you’d like others to know?
There are 2 lessons I can think of:

Never be afraid to ask questions – find an environment where you feel safe and find people who will be honest with you (not your parents) .

Take care of yourself – there is no business if there is no you to do the work
Where do you see yourself and your business in 12 months?
2016 was the year of surviving to prove to myself that I could do it. 2017 will be a year of growth – bigger projects, bigger collaborations and (please please please) a holiday!

No Budget, No Brief, No Deadline = No Deal
