Who are you and what do you do?
I’m Claudia the Founder and Director of Claudia May Lingerie. CML is an online boutique where I curate the best of luxury lingerie from the best brands.
How have you found your start-up journey so far?
The journey has been a really interesting process. I’m learning everything as I go so I’m absorbing new knowledge all of the time. It can be a struggle working by myself, but I can definitely say it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done.
What do you listen to whilst you work?
I feel like I should be saying some sort of motivational podcast, but honestly I’ll find a playlist on YouTube or Spotify and go from there. Ted Talks are for my downtime.
What drives you to get up in the morning?
My cat wanting to be fed… No, seriously, I’m not a morning person, but when I think about what I’ve achieved in the last year it makes me want to make the most of each day so I can look back a year from now and still feel proud.
What three things can’t you live without?
Apart from the essentials that keep me alive, my support network of friends, family and entrepreneur friends. My camera because I love taking photos and Lingerie. Things that are important to me and make me happy.
What’s your best time-saving trick?
Use a YouTube tutorial to help you get something done on a piece of software you don’t know how to use very well.
What have you learnt that you’d like others to know?
It’s okay to ask for help, that’s the most recent thing I’ve learnt. I personally thought asking for help made me look like I was failing, but if you want to succeed, you should use all of your resources.
Where do you see yourself and your business in 12 months?
In 12 months I would like to be seeing more of a consistency in sales coming through. I would like to have the website translated into more languages and currencies to reach more customers globally.
The best advice you’ve ever received?
Have a career in something you feel passionately about.
